This surge in support for Australian-made products can be attributed to various factors.
One reason for the increase in support is a growing preference for supporting local businesses and boosting the domestic economy. Australians are becoming more conscious of the impact their purchasing decisions have on their communities and are choosing to buy Australian-made products to contribute to the growth and sustainability of local industries.
The COVID-19 pandemic has also played a role in driving the demand for Australian-made products. The disruptions in international supply chains and the uncertainties surrounding global trade have led consumers to prioritize locally made products for their perceived reliability and quality.
The increase in support for Australian-made products is evident in various sectors. From food and beverages to clothing and household goods, consumers are actively seeking out products that carry the Australian Made logo, which guarantees their origin and quality.
Amber from Just a Glass Australia says she is seeing it through every day interactions with her customers. ''We continue to see a shift in consumers seeking out Australian Made, and even more so independent brands. It has been a key factor in the continued growth and consumer love of Just a Glass Australia as we hero locally made and grown and nurture local produce. Our customers are loyal to supporting us as a brand knowing they are making a direct impact to a local small business through their purchase power.''
This trend is likely to continue as Australians become even more conscious of the choices they make and the impact they have on local businesses and communities.

]]>If committing to a full month of sobriety feels overwhelming or unrealistic, Dryish July offers a more flexible approach to reducing alcohol consumption. Dryish July is a modified version of the popular Dry July campaign, allowing participants to set their own goals and boundaries when it comes to alcohol.
The concept behind Dryish July is to encourage individuals to be mindful of their alcohol intake and make conscious choices to reduce it, even if they don't completely eliminate it for the entire month. This flexible approach recognises that different people have varying targets on mindful drinking or reducing intake.
Why Consider Dryish July?
Reducing alcohol consumption has numerous potential benefits, regardless of whether you choose to fully abstain or opt for a more flexible approach like Dryish July:
Improved health: Excessive alcohol consumption can have detrimental effects on your physical health, including liver damage, increased risk of certain cancers, and cardiovascular problems[1]. By reducing your alcohol intake, even temporarily, you can improve your overall health and wellbeing.
Mindful drinking: Engaging in Dryish July can help you become more aware of your alcohol consumption habits. It encourages you to think deliberately about when and why you choose to drink, leading to more mindful decisions about your alcohol intake.
Personal growth: Participating in Dryish July challenges you to step out of your comfort zone and develop healthier habits. By setting your own boundaries and working towards them, you can experience personal growth and a sense of accomplishment.
Tips for a Successful Dryish July
If you're considering Dryish July, here are a few tips to help you make the most of this flexible approach:
Define your goals: Decide on the level of alcohol reduction that feels manageable for you. Whether it's cutting back to a certain number of drinks per week, limiting drinking to certain occasions, or exploring alcohol-free alternatives, set clear goals that align with your intentions.
Seek support: Share your Dryish July goals with friends or loved ones who can provide support and encouragement. Having a support system can help you stay on track and make the experience more enjoyable.
Find alternatives: Discover alcoholic options that provide moderation control, or non-alcoholic beverages or activities that can serve as substitutes for your usual drinking habits. Experiment with mocktails, infused water, or engaging in hobbies that don't revolve around alcohol.
Reflect and reassess: Throughout Dryish July, take time to reflect on how your modified alcohol consumption is impacting you. Assess how you feel physically, mentally, and emotionally and consider whether you want to continue these changes beyond July.
At Just a Glass Australia we love getting feedback from our customers in how our range has had a positive impact on them socially and in their weekly drinking habits.
"I reduced by drinking after COVID lockdowns and at the same time found Just a Glass Australia. I enjoy my one glass of wine a week and now having a premium option that is also vegan means I can enjoy it and sip my single serve without the waste of a whole bottle and without drinking more than I want to. I actually really look forward to my one glass a week compared to when i would have a drink every day. This one glass is now enjoyed and looked forward to over a meal on a Friday night and has completely changed my relationship with alcohol. Such a great product and the best service and quality"
Helen - Sydney Australia
In summary Dryish July offers a flexible and adaptable approach to reducing alcohol consumption. By setting your own guidelines and working towards your personal goals, you can experience the benefits of mindful drinking and improved health. Remember, the key is to be conscious of your choices and find a balance that works for you. Whether you choose to go dry for a full month or embrace a modified approach, Dryish July can be a valuable opportunity for personal growth and positive change.
Just a Glass Australia - curated for lovers of just a glass. The perfect Dryish July option to moderate your drinking habits.
]]>According to an article on VinePair, small-format wine bottles, such as splits, half-bottles, demis, or piccolos, are becoming increasingly popular due to their ability to offer a great alternative to traditional wine bottles.
]]>Creating a piccolo wine brand to meet this growing trend has been an exciting experience, but also to create one that has sustainability in mind being vegan and bottled by solar power.
We will continue to innovate, explore and drive the conversation around wine-by-the-glass and excited to see what's next in this space.

Today, many winemakers either allow the wines to naturally settle like we do with our Just a Glass Yarra Valley Pinot Noir, or use clay-based fining agents such as bentonite, or activated charcoal, which means no animal product has been used in the fining process. Such processing agents are efficient at fining out the unwanted proteins, and the wine remains vegan and vegetarian friendly.
]]>
What happens when you only want to consume one glass of wine and you live alone, or don’t share the wine preferences of others in your household.
It can be a waste to open an entire bottle, or you find you drink more than you want to.
We are finding the same with licensed venues who offer a broad range of beverages. Having half used bottles sitting in the fridge after a weekend trade, and the waste that comes with it as they get poured down the sink.
Then there is the consumers who have been increasingly concerned with health and alcohol consumption looking for ways to drink in moderation. Small-format bottles — whether you call them splits, half-bottles, demis, or piccolos — offer a great alternative.
Just a Glass Australia prides itself on providing premium Victorian wine in piccolo format, sustainably produced - bottled by solar power and vegan friendly. 🍷
With seven premium varieties available in 200ml format- we offer a wine-by-the-glass experience that helps locally grown.

We have packages for all budgets.
No one can argue the enormous impact of COVID-19. Lockdowns, work from home restrictions and limited home visitor caps have increased feelings of loneliness amongst Australians. Working remotely in particular has been the impetus for increased corporate gifting – both on a client and an employee level. 35% of companies reported an increased frequency of gifting giving, for two reason: 1) to keep their teams engaged and 2) to maintain connection with their customers.
“Being cut off from family or friends, from celebrations and mourning has meant people are looking for ways to show their love more than ever before. The fact is we get a release of dopamine when giving or receiving gifts, which really shows that gift-giving creates joy and a feeling of connection.” – Amber Duggan, Just A Glass Founder

]]>The bird emblem for Victoria, is critically endangered. At Just a Glass Australia we celebrate all that is Australian native fauna and flora through our wine label artwork by Australian artist Kasey Rainbow and we are excited to share how our newest variety Just a Glass Heathcote Shiraz will be partnering with local conservation organisations to help fight the extinction of this beautiful species.
From June 2022 Just a Glass Australia will proudly support the incredible work of not-for-profit Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater. As an organisation they seek to increase awareness of threatened species and ecosystem conservation through education; advocacy; volunteerism; private landholder extension; habitat restoration and their indigenous plant nursery.
We spoke with Eliza Lamb, Environmental Coordinator at the Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater Inc to find out more about the incredible work they do and how as a brand Just a Glass Australia can help support.
Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater Inc. was formed in 1989 when a meeting was held calling on members of the public to join in the fight to help the species, then at the critically low number of only 50 birds left in the wild.
One of the most active Friends groups in Australia we raise awareness of the plight of the Helmeted Honeyeater through positive community action. This includes providing educational programs to schools, community and corporate groups, on-ground habitat restoration within the Yellingbo Nature Conservation Area (YNCA) and engaging local landholders to make improvements on their properties to increase habitat for threatened species.
We are working hard to protect and enhance habitat for the Helmeted Honeyeater, and this work has positive flow on effects to other species of flora and fauna present in the conservation area.
The numbers of Helmeted Honeyeaters in the wild currently is over 200 individuals. The population of birds can fluctuate depending on the success of breeding seasons and threats such as predation. With the work of the Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater as part of the greater Recovery Team effort, the numbers have increased from the critically low numbers seen in the 1980’s.
As a group we were so proud recently when we held our symposium celebrating 50 years of our faunal emblems being proclaimed. It was such a wonderful way to celebrate all the different organisations that work together for the common cause of saving the Helmeted Honeyeater. We came together in an event online – unable to meet in person due to the pandemic. It was an important time to reflect on the trials and tribulations and the mammoth effort that has gone into protecting and conserving not only the Helmeted Honeyeater but also Leadbeater’s Possum. The Leadbeater’s Possum is also one of our Victorian emblems, it is critically endangered, and the genetically distinct lowland population is only found within the YNCA.
There are so many ways people can help by getting involved to act for threatened species!
We can:
My hope for the Helmeted Honeyeater is that one day the species will be in such a healthy position that the critically endangered status can be downgraded. We have a lot of work to do, and the persistence of the species is on a knife edge, but the work that the recovery team has been doing has seen amazing results, we must keep going, and continue to do things better.
It is important for businesses to use their reach and communicate with their customers about the value of our flora and fauna, finding ways to conduct business and encourage consumer choices in a way that has a positive impact. With weakened government polices to protect biodiversity in this country, it puts the onus on consumers and businesses to drive change through the production of goods and services and how we use them. The voice of the public is a powerful one. Now more than ever we need to stand up and do things that seek to protect our threatened species, and brands have an important role in communicating this.
This partnership is going to help our organisation fund the purchase of plants to create habitat for both Helmeted Honeyeaters and Leadbeater’s Possum. We are a volunteer run organisation predominately that relies on grants and funding to do what we do. By Just a Glass Australia committing to donate funds, we can plant more native vegetation that will one day be habitat for our threatened species, which is just so exciting.
David Attenborough without a question as he communicates the importance of conservation to people all over the world. PJ Harvey because she is such a brilliant and talented singer/songwriter whose lyrics really evoke imagery of places and feelings, and finally my partner Aaron, for whom I couldn’t imagine attending a dinner party without and would be upset if I didn’t take him to hang out with PJ and David!

Tell us a little bit about Kasey Rainbow the artist? What do you love most about your job?
My absolute favourite thing about my job is that I get to do what I love EVERY SINGLE DAY. I am so incredibly grateful to be where I am and try not to take it for granted!
You first worked with Just a Glass back in 2020 for the launch of the brand. What inspired you as you created the first six labels?
It had been a goal of mine to create wine labels ever since I first started working as a textile artist. So getting the job with Just a Glass was a literal dream come true! It was made even better by the fact that I was allowed complete creative freedom. We took inspiration from native Australian flora and fauna, but gave them that bright and colourful Kasey twist!
This is the 7th wine label you have designed for Just a Glass Australia. What was the highlight of the Just a Glass Shiraz label?
The highlight for me was actually the challenge of creating a label that stood out on its own, but that also fit in nicely to the existing label family. It’s always nice to be challenged creatively, as it helps me think outside the box.
What element of the label did you start with first? (Colours/themes/objects)
The first (and most important!) part was to nail the colour palette. Each wine in the Just a Glass family has its own distinctive palette, and I needed to ensure that Shiraz’s palette was consistent with the others, but with a flair of its own. Once I had perfected that, the rest fell into place beautifully.
What type of research do you do before stating a new design? How do you get your creative flow happening?
It varies with every job, but for the Just a Glass designs, I like to immerse myself in nature. Whether that be in a literal sense, or to just have inspiration photos up on my screen as I’m working. Looking at the beautiful colours that our native flora holds is enough to inspire anyone!
This label includes a very special Australian native bird, the Helmeted honey eater. not many people would know that this beautiful native bird is a critically endangered. How do you think this label launch will help bring awareness to them and what we can do to help?
It has already brought awareness, as I myself did not realise it was endangered. After researching and reading about it, I know have that knowledge to share with others. Customers of ‘Just a Glass’ will have that same experience, as the label is a talking point in itself. And what better way to learn new things than over a glass of wine!
Not that we have favourites… but out of all of the Just a Glass labels you have designed which label makes your heart sing?
That’s like asking me to pick a favourite child! Whilst I love all of them, I do have a particular fondness for the Pink Moscato label. Not only because it is my favourite colour (and favourite wine!) but it was the very first label I created in the family, so it will always hold a special place in my heart.
As a brand we are inspired by Australian native fauna and flora and are working hard to ensure we make a positive impact on the environment around us. How important do you think it is that brands celebrate the Australian environment and find ways to nurture it?
I think it is getting more important every year. So many Australians are seeking out that ‘Australian made’ label in a bid to support each other and give back to the land we are so lucky to live on. The thing I love most about these labels is that the create a talking point. And the more we talk about and bring light to the Australian environment, the better.
You are invited to a dinner party and can bring any three people past/present/future to enjoy just a glass with… who would those three people be?
I only need one, and that would be Amber – the founder of Just a Glass. We have been working together for so long now, but have never had the chance to meet in real life. And we DEFINITELY deserve to enjoy ‘Just a Glass’ together.

Tell us about Just a Glass
Just a Glass Australia provides a range of premium Australian made and owned vegan piccolo wines that are sustainably produced bottled by solar power. Sometimes we enjoy savouring a glass of quality wine. Not a whole bottle. And often we’d like to enjoy a selection of premium wines, not just one grape variety. Just a Glass Australia was inspired by this very idea - producing premium local wines in single serve bottles. It’s an excitingly different drinking experience that lets wine lovers enjoy the labour of love that goes into producing local wines - one glass at a time.
Like the rest of the world 2020 was a year I could not have predicted, it rolled in like a tornado and turned my return from maternity leave plans on its head with a redundancy in a corporate career I had known for 15 years.
I always had this burning desire to have a business of my own. Ask any of my friends or family and they will tell you that it was always part of my “one day” plan.
It was during the Melbourne Covid Lockdown that I kept thinking about Just a Glass as a brand. I had always thought about premium single-serve bottles of wine and couldn’t find what I was looking for on the shelf. In fact, the thought of opening a whole bottle of wine just to enjoy one glass felt like such a waste.
I was fortunate that I had a connection to the wine industry and had people whom I trusted. Having worked at a vineyard growing up I understood the passion and dedication that went into every bottle. I spoke with experts in the field and the more I spoke about it the more passionate I become and felt “if not me then who”.
I launched Just a Glass in November 2020- it was one of the biggest and bravest things I’ve done in backing myself and chasing a dream. Just over one year in, I haven’t looked back.
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. What would you say your biggest achievement is so far?
Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow – that is the theme of International Women's Day 2022. It is about Changing Climates: Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow – a theme that recognises the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are working to change the climate of gender equality and build a sustainable future.
This resonates with me as I have two daughters and a son, and I hope that I am showing them there is no boundary to what they can achieve if they put their heart and mind to something. I’m also focussed on building a brand that is sustainable and mindful in its footprint as well as being female founded and owned.
In the first 12 months of Just a Glass Australia I created a brand that was true to the vision I had planned, sustainable in its creation while focusing on Australian made and owned supporting other small business to bring it to life, as well as birthing our third child. When I take a step back and look at all of this, I feel incredibly proud. Proud of what I have created in such a challenging time across the globe, but also proud of what I created in front of the eyes of my children.
What advice would you give to other women looking to start up in your industry?
I’ve always had a very clear vision of the brand and belief in what I am trying to create, however I think it’s the continued push to believe in yourself and the confidence to be your own biggest supporter. I’ve really focussed on fostering relationships with other small business owners and other female founders as I never knew what it was like to run a business of my own until I was in it myself.
Key pieces of advice I would give to anyone looking to start a business in any industry:
Back yourself
Don’t stop learning
Ask the hard questions – of those you work with but also of yourself to ensure you stay true to what you are trying to build and why
Who is a woman that really inspires you?
I always love this question as there is so many incredible women across the globe who inspire me with how they advocate and lead. However, from a personal level I have been incredibly fortunate to have grown up in an environment of strong women including my grandmother who is a true inspiration to me. Someone who lives life full of love, empathy, true determination, and grit as well as a sense of calm and positivity. Now in her 90s, she has witnessed the best and worst of humanity, but she inspires me to be in the moment and to build the life I want to live.
What is your number one self-care tip?
I don’t think I have one standout self-care tip; it is a combination of little things that add up. True to the name enjoying just a glass of wine is one of them, and of course my morning coffee is a must!
What’s next for your business? What does the future look like?
I have so many incredible plans for Just a Glass Australia in the next 12 months which I cannot wait to share. I will continue to look for ways to innovate the premium wine-by-the-glass category and look forward to announcing some new partnerships we have planned for 2022-2023.
What is your favourite Boxi product or one that you are desperate to try?
I can’t go past the Sweet Addiction White Chocolate Raspberries. Not only do they pair incredibly well with the Just a Glass Australia King Valley Prosecco, but they are also highly addictive.

"The sentiment around gift giving from 2019 vs 2020 or even 2021 remains the same, however the increase due to the pandemic only highlights the challenges people have faced emotionally and mentally during this difficult time. According to Just a Glass Australia founder Amber Duggan, her business was inspired by those times when you feel like savouring just a glass of quality wine, not a whole bottle.
Officially launched in late 2020, Just a Glass is Australia’s first producer of premium vegan piccolo wines.
“Often we’d like to enjoy a selection of premium wines, not just one grape variety”, says Duggan. That’s where Just a Glass comes in. They create the perfect elevated wine experience. A curated offering sourced from the best local grapes results in quality wines bursting with character and a taste of something different.
Just a Glass Australia is proud to work with the very best producers in Victoria, and it shows. Not only are these local drops delicious, they’re also vegan and low preservative – for more of us to enjoy!

Rainbow and providing ‘wine lovers’ the very best of what’s available in Australian winemaking in a
single serve bottle.
We spoke with Founder, Amber Duggan to find out more about the business.
What’s the biggest thing you’ve learnt this year?
Trust your instinct.
This year has been a huge learning. Firstly, a career pivot and then to launch a business in the midst of a pandemic. What was I thinking?! I have worked alongside some of Australia’s biggest brands in a successful career prior to launching my own business, however when it is your own business there is a layer of emotion to every decision that needs to be made. I think I learnt very quickly that I needed to allow myself to process something emotionally and then process it more logically and ultimately trust my gut instinct.
What’s your proudest moment?
The proudest moment to date would be the day I held a bottle Just a Glass Australia Prosecco in my hands. I looked at the bottle with a few tears in my eyes as all the hard work, the hours spent researching, developing and testing had finally come down to this…a 200ml bottle of my very own just a glass. It was everything I could have hoped for and exactly how I had pictured it.
What or who has the most grounding influence on you?
My family has long history in Australian farming near the Victorian Otway’s.
I was really fortunate to have the opportunity to grow up in an environment that teaches you the meaning of caring for and working with the land. I always enjoyed seeing the labour of love that went into producing something, seeing the journey from paddock to plate.
My Dad would be my grounding influence. In terms of life advice and business advice he is always calming and logical in his decision making process. I admire his work ethic, as a farmer he puts his heart and soul into his business but is also very strategic about what decision he makes. Both my parents have influenced my love of the land and understanding the importance of Australian industry.
What’s the biggest challenge you face at work?
I think the shift of working in the corporate world whilst juggling a family and now working for myself juggling a family has similar pressure, however the biggest challenge I find is knowing when to switch off. I think I’m still learning the boundaries to set and I’m sure most small businesses owners will say that finding that balance is an ongoing struggle.
What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
Take it one step at a time
As a startup I’ve had to learn that I can’t do everything at once. It’s a test and learn and it’s a slow build. I have my roadmap of where I see the brand going in the future and I have to remind myself that it’s important I don’t rush to get to step XYZ before I’ve completed ABC.
Be brave and invest in people who will invest in you
I realised very early on that I would need to find a team of people to surround myself with who I could fully put my trust into and who would become some of my biggest supporters. It can be overwhelming on your own and I underestimated how much I would miss working in a team environment after leaving the corporate world. So I made my own team by carefully choosing who I would surround myself with. This was other women in small business who I could ask for advice and also the businesses I choose to work with including my winemaker, packaging team and artist.
I’m really proud of the people and businesses I worked with as their advice, support and encouragement was everything.
What is the one regret you do not want to have in this lifetime?
My grandmother told me to “enjoy every moment, as every time you blink that moment becomes a memory” I think I try to focus on this personally and professionally. It doesn’t mean that moments in life won’t be hard, but I don’t want to get to the end of my life regretting the fact I wished any moments away.
What do you love most about running your own business?
I love that I have created something I am really proud of. I’m proud that every inch of the product and brand is Australian made and I love that I was able to invest in other local small business to bring the brand to life.

]]>When thinking about the type of bomboniere you wish to gift your guests it is important to think about the things that really matter to you as a couple or something that might be special for you and your family. Ideas from homemade jams and spreads to gifting candles or even plants have been a modern way of saying thank you to your guests for being part of your special day.
If you are looking to gift something truly unique then why not think about gifting your guests a piccolo bottle Just a Glass Australia using the name tag as a seating placement on the bottles. Some things to think about when gifting alcohol to guests:
Consider guest tastes
Try to vary the bomboniere a little to meet your guests’ tastes. Perhaps you could alternate which variety you place on the tables, this can create great conversation between guests.
Make sure the placement on the table is suitable
Piccolo bottles as a bomboniere is best suited to evening weddings, especially those that are adult only. Be very careful if you give out alcoholic bomboniere at a wedding where children are invited.
Check your venue’s liquor policy
Due to liquor laws some venues have restrictions on you providing alcohol of any kind. Some will let you give piccolo bottles as bomboniere, but others don’t allow this so check your venue’s policy before you order.
